My climb out of the NEET pit was to actually get a job first. It was nothing special, just a cashier position, but considering that I was living at home, I was able to bank most of the money and slowly be able to afford a down payment on a vehicle. With a car I was then able to get a second job and go back to college (still in the process atm).

It's nice and horrible at the same time. The sex and sense of companionship is nice. Also, it helps your self esteem as you know that someone actually cares about you to spend time with you. Horrible are the mind games that all women will play - some more than others of course. Also you will need time and money as well, so say goodbye to having a vidya habit. You also need to find a good balance of keeping communication which can be annoying - too much and you seem overbearing and/or desperate. Too little and she will think you're cheating and act accordingly.

A job is definitely the first step. Slowly expand your social skills and start out small with maybe just having a few phone numbers of other people. Eventually you will come out of your shell as the autism shell is no match for having a job that involves some sort of interaction with people. Once you have a stable source of some sort of income, work on getting a vehicle (doesn't need to be fancy, just something that runs and won't ruin you financially).
