Serious question. What has Trump done wrong?
>>
Hillary Clinton is actually probably the best option. A faceless corporate administrator is a lot better than whoever is topping GOP polls. This is what the whole Tea Partier crowd don't realize: it's better to have a competent establishment figure than an impassioned imbecile who wants to talk to Bill Gates to "see what's happening" and "close up the internet in some way."
>>
>>52037486
I understand that the contrarian edgelords are voting for le epic trumpstumper, but who in their right mind would vote for that Hilary cunt? Surely there must be better democratic candidates than her.
>>

I'll give you a hint - establishment candidates usually do not win presidential elections. Just as Carter beat Ford and Clinton beat Bush and Obama beat McShame.

>>52040492
hillary backed out of the election in 2008 so they could put a black guy in the white house. the deal was she'd be the candidate in 2016 + secretary of state in the obama administration.
>>
>>52037486
Hillary is easily the most competent and qualified despite shit posting to the contrary; Jeb Bush is a distant second, as he has no balls. Clinton at least has them in a metaphorical sense.

Trump is a meme candidate, which is fun, but an unwise choice. Sanders is senile. I think Carson is genuinely autistic.
>>
>>52040418
>A faceless corporate administrator is a lot better than whoever is topping GOP polls. This is what the whole Tea Partier crowd don't realize: it's better to have a competent establishment figure

Except Shrillary isn't a corporate administrator and she's never worked in the private sector in her life.

Also using "competent" and "Hillary" in the same sentence is like lyl.

"Qualified" is a pretty damn silly metric on which to vote somewhat. What does it actually mean and why should we care? All that matters is leadership experience. There are loads of politicians with political experience that make shit decisions and never give a fuck.
Just because Hillary is "qualified" doesn't mean she would actually act in a fashion that benefited Americans nor matched their desires.

How old are you?
>>52040857
Better than Western Europe tbhh
>>
>>52040524
Okay, it could be an issue of reading comprehension. I wasn't speculating who was more likely to win, I was simply saying that establishment candidates from both parties are more competent than their alternatives in 2016. Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton are more or less objectively the most capable people to lead the country, and they share the same weakness: personality. From the GOP side, Rubio is a lot more likable, and he's pseudo-outsider because of his Tea Party ties, so he represents another decent option.

But more generally, I don't think this trend can be applied to other elections. Both the Tea Party and Sanders are products of their time. Only Obama is mildly relevant here, since Bernie is pretty much following in his footsteps in terms of a social media campaign and grassroots focus. In short, there's no point in voting for meme candidates like Trump or Ben Carson.

At what point did I say he's an imbecile? I mean, It doesn't take a genius to fool americans, but Trump definitely has what It takes to get his point across as a politican. My comment was that his platform is that of total populist, aka totally non-feasible and oriented to garner support by hear and heart and not by substance. He is speaking to what apparently every (uneducated) white american is thinking - and I'm pretty sure he knows it. You can't ban a whole ethnicity from your country based on their religion; you can't make another nation pay for a wall in your borders; you can't deport 10 million illegals overnight. International law might not ring a bell to Trump's supporters, but It exists, and Trump can't change that fact.

You are retarded for thinking people would block bills simply based on the author.

Bernie Sanders wants to implement socialism in the United States on the basis of the Scandinavian model. The countries he brings up at nearly every interview and event are Norway, Finland, and Sweden. Culturally and economically it's impossible to compare the U.S. and Scandinavian countries, so I don't think he's really serious about his views and is more of a populist candidate.

Trump was already discussed in this thread. Carson has no economic or foreign policy to speak of. Rubio and Jeb Bush are decent, I guess I'd put them on the same level. Ted Cruz is too much of a sleazy populist, especially with the supporting Kim Davis nonsense, though here Mike Huckabee, an even more meme candidate overshadowed him. Rand Paul has a shit foreign policy. I think that's most candidates, and yeah, that's my basis for that.

Wonderful meme. Surely then "treaties" and intergubernamental organizations are fictional things, and your countries have spent mindlessly billions on dollars on erecting a world order based on codified, "yet non-existent", international law. The TPP is fake! The European Union doesn't exist!

Common, tell me more. I always enjoy supposed first worlders making fool of themselves on topics that require a bit of critical thinking.

But thanks for bringing that up. Why does Obama get so little heat from liberals for only letting in 10,000 Syrians by 2016? He only let in 1,500 2011-present.

Obama gets so many free passes from our media it is astounding. Obama has not stuck to even on of his 2008 campaign promises, and only Fox news mentions it.

I agree that restricting all people from Syria, Iraq, or Libya is a smart decision though.

Project for Excellence in Journalism, Oct. 29th 2007

40.5% of CNN coverage of Republican-related material is negative, 13.5% is positive
23.2% of CNN coverage of Democrat-related material is negative, 27.2% is positive

In a joint study conducted by the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard University and the Project for Excellence in Journalism, the authors found disparate treatment by the three major cable networks of Republican and Democratic candidates during the earliest five months of presidential primaries in 2007: "The CNN programming studied tended to cast a negative light on Republican candidates – by a margin of three-to-one. Four-in-ten stories (41%) were clearly negative while just 14% were positive. 77% of the stories related to Obama were positive in comparison.

No they're not. Our government is extremely shitty. Letting them take care of health care, pension (social security), and other socialist policies is a bad idea. For every dollar that goes towards health care, the american people would be lucky to receive $0.25.
A $15/minimum wage would kill small business and leave many people unemployed. Most Americans see no reason for nationalized health care. And social security needs to be trashed.

Americans benefit from less government and a lower tax rate than they do from a retarded nanny trying to run a nationalized healthcare system.

And this is exactly what people who believe in communism or central planning say. And you know how that's worked out.

They are only taxed 10-15% and can do with their money as they wish. They can invest in community college, learn a trade, etc. The absolute poor will be able to find homeless shelters and some support.

I'm not against government support. There are times when it benefits everyone. I simply think the benefits end with homeless shelters, employee training, and skills/jobs training.

Instead of settling for welfare and shit, holing up in your little ethnic enclave, smoking pot and removing yourself from the general economy and workforce, you are forced to integrate and start networking with the general population, shit gets done, profit unites people.

When it comes down to it, even some of his supporters in the polls will likely defect because they worry about his extreme positions. We see similar things happen with black politicians. People will say they support them because they don't want to look racist, then vote for someone else in the privacy of the polling booth.

Do you actually think Presidents themselves make deals? And not their army of advisors ajd academics? At the very best most president negotitiate terms and decide when to compromise/not compromise.

I'd bet good money that it's very rare for a president to come up with new material or draft a bill. Economists and military advisors will tell them "y is a bad decision, z is our best option but they wom't accept it, so x is most likely." The president will then say "I want something like x" and am advisor can draft it up from them.
