Time after time the u.s goverment has garner a reputation for denying, ignoring, and straight out downplaying the atrocities it has commited throughout its history as a sovereign state.
From crimes in recent wars to crimes commited in the past, the u.s has become a master at preventing its citizens from knowing the truth of its actions on overseas issues.

Why is the u.s quick to speak of human rights violations occurring in other countries but reluctant to speak of the crimes it has commited?
>>
>>52010214
Who the hell is going to hold it accountable for its crimes?

doesn't every country do this until they can't?
>>
>>52010237
The global community.
Countries who have an influence in the global economy
>>
What are they gonna do, take us to the Hague? We fucking run everything. They don't have the balls.
>>
It would look pretty hypocritical for the members of the 1st world to criticize their most important ally

>America is cruel and evil
>L-leave NATO? no... thank you
>>
>>52010254
Yes.
But the u.s having a tendency to make its citizens believe it is a beacon of freedom has a moral duty to be honest about its affairs and crimes.
>>
>>52010293
That's not a good thing you imperialist cunt.

It does yes.
You cant expect progress anywhere in the world if people are not honest and held accountable for the crimes they do.

It should bother you too.
>>
Might makes right at the end of the day. Until another country eclipses us in terms of power, or many countries unite against us, not much can be done.

What """"""""war crimes"""""""?

The USA is by far the most benevolent superpower in history. We've done everything we can to make the world a better place. Sometimes that entails a cost. There's no fucking """"war crimes"""".
>>
>>52010576
Please click on this link.
It tells of the crimes commited in the Korean war by u.s officials and the damage the u.s has continue to do in the Korean peninsula.

>>
>>52010310
There's nothing hypocritical about it.
Hypocritical is a country in the first world denying the crimes it commits while stating it stands for values and peace.
>>
Americans are subhumans who have no sense of empathy of morality.
>>
>>52010683
every country in the first world claims it's for values and peace, and if you directly benefit from a crime you've consented to it's perpetration, leastwise if you don't confess and offer reparation.
>>
>>52010538
It doesn't bother me in the least. And I suggest you get over whatever historical asshurt you still harbor.

This country was not made for old world reactionaries.

Downplay?
Every civilian dead by US forces gets plastered on the front pages of every newspaper. but that isn't the case for civilians killed by russia or syria.
They have killed more civilians than they have killed "terrorists."
>>
>>52010434
>The U.S. must admit it's crimes and apologize
Ok, I agree.
>and compensate the korea people
We were in that war because of their chinky cunts to begin with, and now they want reparations. Fucking rich. We should have left them to rot in communism, peaces of shit.

Most US crimes are petty crimes caused by a few idiots who didn't follow orders to the point.
Oh, they killed rebels or killed people in an "uprising", fucking war crimes.

The US is not perfect, but it has one of the cleanest records compared to nations that are engaged in conflicts with the scale and time that the US does.
>>
>>52011016
Youre fucking retarded you faggot.
>>
>>52011555
Not true.
Any chance the u.s media has to make russia look bad it takes it without fail. When the u.s bombed a hospital sponsored by "doctors without borders" in Afghanistan (or syria, im not sure) it was reported as an "error" and practically ignored by all major news outlets in the country. Very rarely do you see major news stations do their job correctly.
>>
>>52013359
It's because it was an error. Even if Russia bombed a doctors without borders, it would be obvious that it was a mistake.

But I'm not talking about bombing international institutions but just poor syrian people. The US bombed some ISIS camps a few months ago, and a few kids died. Immediately, it got lots of attentions, while the Russian civilian kill count has just passed by the headlines without any major backlash.

If you asked someone, who kills more civilians in a month, I bet they would say the US is killing everyone in syria, and the mighty laser eyed russians never get it wrong.

>>52010214
The answer to all of your questions is "because we're the single greatest nation on earth" and if you don't like it, you can fuck right off.
>>
>muh corea
Korean 2nd gen half-breed detected.
>>
>>52011652
I agree with you on the compensate proposal.
The problem in here is not that some dumbasses went out and commited horrible crimes against innocent people. That's expected in any war.
The problem is that the u.s government deliberately downplayed and buried these war crimes so that the american public along with the global community didn't give them repercussions for the actions that were allowed to happened on lands they were supposedly "helping".

Also, these crimes are NOT "petty".
There was some very disturbing and unsettling shit happening to innocent people and those who were not doing anything wrong or illegal. Not only that, but the u.s also broke several laws that were made to ensure that any war was fair and clean.
>>
>>52013535
No.
The majority of americans are under the impression that the u.s is doing something good in Syria.
Im not denying the fact that russia is just as shitty as the u.s when it comes to handling problems correctly.

All im saying is, the american news outlets need to be more objective when reporting news. A lot of the information you, me, and everyone else gets is specifically chosen according to how well it fits the national agenda.

Because "war crimes" is an arbitrary term referring to BAD THINGS that are normally sowed by warfare. The actions taken by the US are necessary to maintain our righteous Imperium. If some piece of shit Mohammedan rat disagrees with this, he can go to hell with his pedophile prophet. We should seize lands populated by untermenschen Muslims for their raw resources if need be. Imperialism is a mutually beneficial arrangement for both parties anyways, raw resources are exchanged for political stability and protection from third party influences.

I always felt like that deep down, Americans would love to live in a Nazi like state, run by themselves. And that the entire "freedom" thing is really just a varnish.

"There are no war crimes."
"Here are some."
