It's not a carbon copy. It uses the same style of construction, but below the broad outline it doesn't really resemble it any more than any two unrelated rectilinear skyscrapers do. It also isn't there to look pretty, it's functional. They went with that design because it works. There are a bunch of towers like that, in Japan and elsewhere.
