Bogomils yes, but there were always Paulicians. Most converted by the 17th century, to catholicism (Banat Bulgarians), orthodoxy or islam. But there were some unconverted, dualist Paulicians still living around Plovdiv in the mid-19th century (just like some were left in Armenia too called Thonraki).
Bogomilism basically originated from Paulician missionaries around the 10th century. The doctrines were very similar and they had no conflicts with each other.

It's pretty well documented actuallyu. The Ottomans took the son of the main Bosnian noblemen as janissaries, and when they returned as muslims the Turks told them only noblemen who converted to islam were allowed to keep their possessions. So the whole nobility converted and the people soon followed. By then (late 15th century) they were the only remaining bogomils, in Bulgaria they were gone.
Mainly by their insistent pacifism (also the reason why Serbs never converted en masse, and the few Serb bogomils were not at all pacifist), those were days of constant Ottoman threats, for pacifism their was no need.
Also one of the last Bulgarian bogomil monks split off and formed his own branch,a perv who was mainly promoting male homosexuality (his name was pop Theophilus or similar). This is where the whole notion of buggery/bougry comes from

True, it is all their work, the origins of Paulicianism go back to the 6th century thereabouts in Armenia.

I can adapt pretty well, be it city or countryside, flat or rugged land, but I was thinking better to live closer to an industrial area, I can do general labwork and have experience in microbiology and protein manufacture too (I worked for a company that developed vaccines). The nice thing about chemistry is that it is broad in scope. I also have done labwork for pharmaceutical companies, preparing steroids mostly.
So generally it can be petrochemistry (oil, plastics), organic chemistry, agricultural chemistry (manufacture of pesticides etc), biotech companies, quality control and assurance. It is very broad, but so is my knowledge of anorganic, organic and analytical chemistry. I have a bachelor in Biochemistry and I have done a lot of specialty courses, both at work or in my private time, and have attests to prove. More specifically: statistics (R&R studies, MSA), process engineering, environmental, handling cyanides, hydrogen fluoride and other dangerous chems.
A single person apartement or studio is more than enough. I don't know about extra costs (electricity, heating)? What is the cost of gasoline? But that's about it. I'm not looking for big money, but rather a steady job as a chemist, either research or in industry, or lab-worker.
