Kokura Castle (小倉城 Kokura-jō?) in Kitakyushu, Japan was built by Hosokawa Tadaoki in 1602. It was the property of the Ogasawara clan (from Harima) between 1632 and 1860. The castle was burnt down in 1866 in the war between the Kokura and Chōshū clans.[1]
The keep was reconstructed in 1959, and the castle was fully restored in 1990.

One of my favorite cities in north america, New Orleans. Some have called it the closest you will ever get to Europe in America. Such a shame the people who inhabit it are shit. The city council should sponsor visas for French citizens to move there and open up French shops and teach French to children and locals and turn it back into a francophone city.
This photo was taken just after Katrina in the French Quarter. Take away the police and FootLocker sign and you could probably convince someone this was actually taken in France.

The Garden District is comfy af. Taking a bike ride down St. Charles St is amazing during the summer, the beautiful neo-classical and art nouveuo estates and houses tucked behind the willow tree lined street. NOLA is a seriously underrated city, just needs to get ride of the black problem.

I live in the capitol of my state (Kansas). Here is our capitol. The Iron dome on top was recently restored a few weeks ago including the facade. The building beautiful inside and is home to a world famous mural which is close to the Governor's office.

I live in New Orleans and you give it too much credit. I've included a map of the shit parts and non-shit parts. The problem is, the shit parts are some of the absolute worst places in the country. Its also going to sink within this century.

Congress approved a new surface transportation bill so they should apply for new starts federal grants. I think a hallmark of a good city is how nice their public transport system looks. I don't have any pics but when I visited Chicago I found it nice how all of the L train booths and tracks were made of nice wood and seemed like the took the effort not only to make it functional but actually make it look good. It seems like nowadays local governments cheap out on their public projects. Like if the L train stations were rebuilt today, they would have those shitty foam ceiling panels and plastic tile floors...yuck
