I noticed that European women stare. I often encounter European tourists in my city and exchange students in my campus, and the woman almost always stare in my eyes. No, I don't look like a rapey thief. I have an above average girlfriend already. The men never stare, but the girls do. Turkish women never do this.
Today a foreigner was sitting across me on the metro, and she was staring into my eyes constantly. She didn't smile or pout, just stared. I could also see her staring on the window's reflection.
Why?
