"Homesick" can kinda translate that, but a related word that absolutely doesn't exist in English is "dépayser".
In construction, it's pretty much "to de-country-fy", but it conveys the meaning of making you feel like you are somewhere else, experiencing something different.
The most obvious use would be when traveling somewhere else, the feeling you get from just not being in a country you're familiar with is "dépaysement". But it can also be applied while still within your country, or in general in a more metaphorical manner - as long as it makes you feel not at home, but in a positive way.
