No, but European countries expanding into Asia isn't the same thing as an Asian country expanding into Europe. Asian territory under European administration is by all means European in everything but geography. All in all it doesn't really make a difference, everybody thinks of Egypt as Middle Eastern even though it's in Africa, for example.
