although the article arguably omitted to mention this to make it sound a scandal, the emperor's mother was a concubine descended from a korean prince sent to japan as hostage, which is nothing but yet another evidence of the inconvenient fact, which koreans desperately deny, that ancient japan had an influence on korea to the level of making them send royal hostages and tributes like protectorates, which is also backed up by a lot of description in historical documents left among japan, korea and china.
