As my family is more or less wealthy I never got to really live like many people in Angola outside the capital do, I had a mostly Western living standard. The diet is very different here in Belgium though, also drinking habits and general "day division". I still find it astounishing how respectful people are here compared to home, especially when they're drunk. I really don't like what the Chinese are doing. They literally export their people to build infrastructure here that mostly only helps themselves and the country's elite. Same thing for South Korea to a lesser degree.
I really can't tell if it's beneficial in the long run. But many investments go towards industries and regions that don't really offer something for the people, and probably will get abandoned once the investments cease. I hope we can get out of this or at least canalize those said investments to profit at least a bit from it.
