No, I donated blood. They pretty much said they haven't seen anyone with my blood type in a while. Sure, there are AB positives, but negatives are rare. And you can't keep blood forever, there is an expiration date.
It isn't a far stretch to jump to the conclusion that if your blood is so rare, they probably won't have a bag of it at hand. You have to hope they'll have a couple of O negs lying around, or some other negatives, but even then, if you need multiple bags, they can't just dump you full with A negative when they run out of B negatives because that shit will clot.
