Most of them just sit there holding a handwritten sign that's barely legible. I do feel bad for some of them but it's not uncommon for people to fake being homeless for easy money. Most of the time I just ignore them.

All the beggars here head south to California and Florida once they get the money usually. They're usually either lazy con-artists, druggies or PTSD veterans. Being homeless sucks ass outside of the cities and you basically rely on charity and government shelters. There's a shit ton of them in any major US city in certain areas. Essentially, 80% of them are the scum of the Earth.
The good thing is that only 1% of people stay homeless permanently, and only 5% are homeless for more than a year.
