considering our size it's actually fairly impressive. e spend something like 1.8% of our GDP on the military and are currently in the process of upgrading it (the spending has been downsized from 2010 where it was at ~2, for comparison Canada is 1.1). we have a clean and impressive track record, fantastic humanitarian aid, skilled soldiers, skilled special forces.
for example since you've posted the RAN let's look at it. so they're currently in the process of replacing their seahawks with 24 MH-60Rs, already obtained 1/2 of our LHDs (a ship we haven't had this big since the retirement of HMAS Melbourne (our old aircraft carrier)), upgrading the collins class submarines before we replace them with either swedish or japanese subs, and then 9 future frigates to replace the anzac-class frigates
of course we're going to pale next to america, but you'd have to be a literal fucking mong to expect anything else.
