However, some people will avoid Asian immigrants because of bad experiences or simply having given up. From my experience I would say that it is Koreans that do not want to mix with others and not the other way around. All east Asians are the worst in terms of integration. Usually reluctant to learn English, only keep to their own people and forming separate communities. This bothers locals and eventually they start to get sick of the people who come to live here but act like they want to be at home.
If a Korean comes to live in New Zealand, why not embrace your new home, culture and people? What is the point in coming here if you enjoy big cities, talking Korean/Chinese/Japanese and eating Korean/Chinese/Japanese food? All those things are better and more available in Korea/China/Japan.
If I moved to an east Asian country I would try to avoid speaking English, eat local food mostly and make the most of what is new and different. To do otherwise is very arrogant, disrespectful and a waste of time really.
