did samurai even fought against any non japanese and won? What's the reason behind them being so dickrided?
>>51738987
being a samurai is a way of life, there is a philosophy behind it, not like in the west where a nobleman calls himself a knight just because he wears an armor
anime n shit
1 medieval knight can whup 3-4 samurai asses with claymore or longsword
their bow is too big and sucks
armor too expensive and worse than armor of Europe home guard peasant
why did you copy /his/ post?
>>51739145
knight was a title you retarded monkey simple armored cavalrymen were called men at arms
>>51739259
I didnt said that yumi has lower penetretion power
I mean that it was too big even if compare it with english longbow
Samurais and Knights were the same kind of thugs. All the Chivalry and Bushido things were not formalized until pretty much when they had ceased to be relevant and you have to justify their existence.

saying all samurai and knights were thugs is as stupid as portraying them as goodie two shoes
>>51739145
Knight =/= armour, weaboo. Charlie Chaplin was a knight. Also, it's not a self appointed title.
Yeah, they were beating the Mongols during the 2nd Invasion, even before the Typhoon.
In their invasion of Korea, they mostly won the land battles against the Koreans and Chinese (at the time, China had good armies, not inferior to other countries). They lost due to logistics and the Koreans having one of the greatest admirals ever (they won sea battles without Yi, but lost them horribly when he was fighting).

Vat? The Mongol invasions of Japan were just a couple guys who went out on a reconnaissance expedition and got wrecked in a storm.
They won against the mongols

The Japs panicked like shit when they learned the Mongols were coming and every man, woman, and child ran to the coastline and started waving sticks and throwing stuff.
All the Mongols saw was a bunch of smelly cavemen in loincloths waving and yelling, so they decided there was nothing in Japan worth taking and went home.

>an army of 140,000+ men
>4,000+ ships

it's easily one of the largest expeditionary forces of all history before the 20th century.

People like them because they look cool I guess. It's also easy to romanticize them because of Budhido and all that. Knights basically get the same treatment considering that they weren't particularly relevant and were basically obsolete not long after they showed up. But they look cool in their armour and again it's easy to romanticize chivalry.
>>51743545
>not long after they showed up
>were used for 500 years
canuck education

Not really m8. Full plate armor didn't become widespread until the 1400s. Firearms made full plate armor basically obsolete by the mid 1500s.
>>51744105
>knights were a thing only after plate armor was invented
canuck education they wore chainmail before you stupid asshole just because they didn't look like your typical RPG knight from the get go doesn't mean there were no knights
>>51744105
>>51744175
I didn't say there were no knights. I said that the stereotypical knight in full plate armor was not particularly relevant and wasn't in practical use for very long.
>>51744338
you didn't say stereotypical knights you just said ''knights'' don't try to cover up your fuck up worse America
>>51741163
You realize that were multiple battles involving tens of thousands of Mongols right?

The author of he book of 5 circles says that jap bows are useless if he enemy is further than 40 steps from you
