I lived there for two years, in Leeds and Oxford. I enjoyed it a great deal.
The housing is of extremely high quality in terms of its structure and reliability. The walls are nearly 30cm thick in some places and that's in average houses.
Pros:

>lots of pubs (they don't disguise themselves in hotels like they do here)
>good television
>quite cheap to rent
>lower taxes than other rich countries in europe
>the people are fun
Cons:
