No,but during part of the commie age,women that went to some universities were conscripted into different part of the armed forces,usually in specialized areas. My mom served in air defence/chemical weapons defense(i think) and when she graduated she was a reserve sub-lieutenant thus out-ranking all the men who were conscripted as soldiers. I think the idea was to have a pool of human resources to draw on in case of invasion and since Universities were fairly hard to get into the people in it were thought to be of use,being more intelligent than average. Not a bad strategy desu.
