What is the Christmas tradition in your country?
In Anglo countries we do the Christmas tree and Santa thing
This is Dutch Santa. Wtf? Why is this allowed?
I think a lot of our Christmas traditions come from Germany, but we don't consider them "German" anymore after WWI.

Saint Nicolas has nothing to do with christmas though. It's just a holiday for kids, where they get presents on the 5th of december.

In America we go to the mall, sit on Santa's lap and tell him what we want.
We sing Christmas carols, go door to door and demand fruit cake.
We hang up oversized socks on our fireplace.
We leave cookies and milk, and occasionally carrots for Santa and his reindeer to eat while they drop of our presents and/or coal.
We put wreaths on our front doors, build tiny men with snow and give them tophats, coal for eyes, sticks for arms and coat buttons to signify that they wear a coat.
We drink eggnog and open presents on December the Twenty Fifth to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ(though that's not his real birthday)
During this holiday we're supposed to not have any hostility toward anyone and be as charitable as possible.
