Personally I find most beer from the German speaking world to be disgusting. It's far too gassy.
Just try the things you don't get in Italy. Ask for recommendations. I personally think our cheese, red meat and breads are our strongest points.

The Belgium ones I tried were otherworldly compared to ours, so I assume the German ones must be good as well.
Not that an italian can understand that much of beer... imo our best ones are still miles behind the most piss-poor from Belgium.

German cuisine is actually pretty underrated, and I say this as an "anti-Germanboo" who rightly recognizes the superiority of French food. Rouladen, wursts, etc. are very good.
