Moscow and the rest of Russia are completely different when it comes to winter, dude. Winters in the capital are much more forgiving, -20 is basically as cold as you can get there. Everything that lies east is far more fucked up though. I'm living near Urals (technically already in Siberia but who gives a shit) and having about -38 degrees for a week straight is a common occurance every winter.
