It's been like... Almost 800 years?
The Civil War era started in 1130 and ended in 1240, so 775 years since kings fought for the throne over here.

There was a lack of centralized state power for quite a while but I can't imagine it having any significant effect on the rular peasants.
At least we turned out well 775 years later.
