We need 100-150 years to catch up to the Western Europe. Please, understand this. I think we can make it but we need to change so many things that need to be chnged by new people. Excuse me for serious interruption.

Don't be so pessimistic about the West. Yes, Europe will never be the same but it's far from being dead. Some countries are barely affected by a refugee crisis, you just need to improve birth rates.

In all seriousness I think that we need it's not dependant Europe, Independent from you Ivan , Independent from USA,
I am not saying that we must be hostile, but we must be strong enough to protect our interest,
The problem is that we have conflicting interests inside EU, and we have plenty of countries that are pretty much American puppets not allies

Well, federal Europe may be the dream, but I don't know if we'll reach it one day. Just look at the mess the refugees crisis caused. No country had the same position.
Schengen was blown to pieces by some terrorists, because there was no fucking cooperation between police and intelligence services, they just don't trust each other.

Other issue is the defence. Look at the numbers of EU countries investing in the F-35 (a fucking US plane). Only UK and France are the relevant armies anyway.

Russian economy is internal consumption driven.

Russians buy Russian cars, Russian cellphones, Russian food.

Russia has largest middle class of all BRICS countries and they're by far the wealthiest of BRICS.

Chile is an irrelevant strip in the middle of the desert. Russia has the 2nd strongest military on earth.

First, Russia isn't like most developing countries like Nigeria. Even in 1999 it's per capita was higher than Nigeria's now, and its population has declined.
Second, even with a declining population it has been one of the fastest growing economies around.
Third, Yeltsin and shock economics is the reason we have Putin economics now.
>>
>>51623314
So the analogy is even worse.

You are trying to say Putin doesn't deserve credit for fixing Russia. He does.

You're on one had saying Putin has no hand in making the economy strong, and then on the other saying he has caused the last 3 years of stagnation.

Corruption perception in Russia is lower now (not much) than in the 90's. Most Russians on here agree.
I've heard the state corruption has lessened but the small chump corruption continues unabated.

Listen, I'm not trying to argue that Putin is a savior or anything. You're obviously Russian so you know the actual life in Russia.

I am just saying that Putin has done pretty well for a leader of Russia. Will he continue to? The last couple years cast doubt on that. Too much power and too much time in power corrupts people.

But if not Putin who else? Russian citizens like you should try making that change and fixing things. Just please give credit where credit is due.

That's just because it's cheaper than keeping the shuttles running until we get the next gen manned space vehicles going which is what we want to focus on. All we do is hitch a ride to the space station every now and then with them.
When we go to Mars it won't be on some Russian rocket.
>>
>>51624259
That is, if their fucking up is unintentional.

Although I don't think Putin was that much of a visionary to foresee his rise to power. Just an opportunist that knows how to stir up popular opinion

I can't agree. He missed a HUGE opportunity to reform all the country's institutions. Russia will never have so much money again. Then he has became old and crazy and started wars.
