Why do people hate us?
There are 42 million portuguese people all around the world,they're respectful,traditional,christian,proud,hardworking.However,/int/ views of Portugal are very misleading and people here are actually starting to believe the memes...
What have we done to you?To your country?We were the first global empire,we spread catholicism,laid foundations for the modern world,we also were the first to abolish slavery and death penalty.Every single land we stepped on went on to be a christian nation with a promising future...
We drove off the muslims with our iberian brothers and defended Europe's economic hegemony from the Ottoman Empire.
We also fought agaisn't Napoleon with our Anglo bros while other nations bent the knee and got annexed.
Nowadays, Portuguese is the 5th most spoken language and the most growing language in the world.

The Portuguese that live in my home country are almost entirely scum. That said, I wouldn't project that onto Portuguese in Portugal. I try not to judge the people of a nation without a reasonable amount of first hand experience.

Goa is one of the richest parts of India, Macao is Chinese Vegas and Brasil is the leading power in South America. Angola is richer than most sub saharan African countries and Cape Verde is more civilized. Its not like other people's sub saharan African colonies turned out great anyway.
