So, apparently the Brazilian economy shrunk by 4.5%.

Can we have an honest discussion on why Brazil is a bad country?

When your economy is growing it's not because of us,when it's shrinking we're the one to blame?Make up your mind

Brazil is finished. Their economy could only rely on monkeyball for so long before it all came tumbling down

>Brazilian economic growth, especially after 1850, compared "very well" with that of with the United States and the European countries, according to the historian Boris Fausto

>Brazil in the last year of the monarchy was a “prosperous and [internationally] respected” country, according to historian Oliveira Lima

You see, it's unfair to blame Portugal for their shortcomings - since they used to be a respect, stable country with lots of potential.

Plus, any connection to Portugal is utterly ridiculous. These two countries only share a language, sort of.

To be fair, the US is ruled by a monkey and several prosperous American states are inhabited by millions of monkeys.

But what explains this? It's one of the largest countries in the world, it has tons of natural resources and a sizable population. It has got everything it needs to be a regional power and maybe even a future superpower.

What I'm asking is, why are they so bad at everything?

Brazil was always considered poor.

Monkeys =/= niggers

Journalists should stop referring to Brazil as an economic giant.

It's pretentious
>>
I say this every thread, but you and Argentina had such potential. The US saw you as being on our playing field one day. Do we blame the gommies? Do we blame foreign influence? Greedy politicians screwing their own people for an extra few bananas in their pockets? All of the above?

You do realize that Urgay has like 300 habitants right?

we just hit literacy rates the US had in the 19th century, why would anyone expect this to be a prosperous country?

Low gdp per capita is the whole idea about a promissing economy. That paired with availability of resources, infrastructure, industrial capacity, etc.

That's why the BRICS are a thing. Not developed countries, but not completely underdeveloped either.

But yeah we aren't all that special.

Why do Brazilians always look so happy when their country is a shithole?

I read that the Economy Minister of Brazil is making a lot of cuts on the economy, and the interest rate in Brazil is absurd! (14%) How the monkeys expect that someone will invest in their production (that is what really matters for GDP)?
Underdeveloped like Brazil countries don't have inflation because of too many demand, but because of low production
