It is true that our equipment is technically better, our air defence frigates and missile tech and Navy are generally superior. But it's fairly level playing fields because we are deficient in other areas.

Except we're building two carriers so (unlike the French) we will always have one available when we need it. During the Libya campaign the French had to withdraw the CdG for maintenance months before the campaign was over. The French are not building a new carrier. Despite being nuclear powered, the CdG needs refuelling every 7 years which puts it in maintenance, unusable, for the best part of a year. That's not counting the times they have to withdraw it because of some other problem.
Yes we have a base in Cyprus, and another in Qatar. We have:
10 Tornados
6 Typhoons
10 Reaper drones
Airseeker
Sentinel
Voyager
All in that theatre, all helping with the effort, with the recon aircraft providing 30% of the US-led coalition's recon information.
