AS went the live action direction so that destroyed the main avenue for fresh animated series' to be produced. According to wikipedia there's only 4 non-cancelled/ended animated shows on AS (one of which is squidbillies which is odd because it's easily the 3rd shittiest show on the channel) and the only one that isn't awful is Rick and Morty and even that show is only tolerable 1-2 episodes at a time.
If AS went back to having 3/4ths of its programming being original animated programs and 1/4th family guy there would probably be more good cartoons on the air ATM, although there are was a ton of fuckawful garbage back in the AS prime like Assy Mcgee and Superjail
