At my school (a grammar school, it's free but you have to pass a test to get in so people are more intelligent and up their own arses) there was some shitty social ladder which was determined all the way back from when you firs started fopr some reason and people would take the piss out of others to distract people so they wouldn't have the piss taken out of them sort of thing. Everyone bullying each other in hopes they wouldn't get bullied.
I handled it badly and it really got to me. I used to be really popular and outgoing in primary school and had loads of genuine friends, then for some reason once I started secondary school people were cunts to me from the start, probably because I didn't stand up for myself. Dunno if it happens in all schools though.

My dad was VERY hard with the banter. My mum was always nice to me. I can give some examples though if you want to understand?
My dad preferred to 'take the piss in ways I would remember' (the word banter wasn't as commonplace back then) so he would usually be a nice guy, except for major holidays and points during the year. EG
Christmas
