Everytome I'm abroad and people ask where I'm from I day the US, to which they always say: "Oh, which part?" If I lie and say something like California they usually get excited and ask if I have met any celebrities or if I surf, etc.
If I tell the truth and say I'm from Maine, I occasionally get a lobster comment, but mostly just something along the lines of a somewhat confused: "Oh, how nice"
