The government gave up on that way back in 2012. Since 2012 they admitted it will be a two Parliament job. The graph I posted is from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) which is independent on government. Anyway due to economic growth, the debt as % GDP will start to fall before the deficit is closed in cash terms.
