I work for a genetic engineering company. Our clients are the richest people on earth.

I'm gonna tell you something that will blow your mind. The first of the new breed of people who will live healthily to 500 years old have already been born.

Unlimited money allows you access to genetic advancements that will allow your kids to live forever and amass infinite power.

We're not going to share these advancements with you. The price will not come down. Your kids will be born, they will be slaves to our products, and then they will die.

aging is not a linear plot over time it doesn't work like that, this swedish lady is insane

basically there are historical records of people living over 100 years in the far past modern health care makes it easier for more people to be able to live that long

that doesn't mean that there is a proportional increase in age vs quality of healthcare

that is a logical fallacy

It's actually a simple process
You inject new cells with new, younger DNA into the clients as it replaces old cells and reproduces new healthier(less damaged DNA) cells in the body
Do this on regular basis for a while than your whole body is replaced with young new cells and you look twenty again
Technically you can live forever with this technology but we offer only to the VIPs in our firm

actually can't save on a hd, you will just write yourselves out of it

it will "leak" out and flood the network or whatever it is attached to

>>51528611
dna itself does not get damaged and if it does your body does not make more of that copy

in your body you carry a "pure" copy of your dna that you get all your replacement cells from, it is in your bone marrow, they are specialized into different cells in your body

as people get older this process slows down

in order to truly break away from this cycle you have to get a new set of bone marrow, probably easier to get a new body

>>
>>51529010
the hterh replenishes it and replaces the lost ends

it is not the cause of aging

dna damage can happen in radiation sickness

your cells stop replacing because it can't do the transcription and you die because your body doesn't make new cells

hair and skin fall internal hemorrhaging off etc
>>
>>51527383

>The first of the new breed of people who will live healthily to 500 years old have already been born.

no shit sherlock as long as they don't get cancer. I work for Genetech, once we get commercially available organ cloning machines in a decade or so people will be living a lot longer

>The price will not come down

yeah it will. Companies are owned by investors that want dividends. Why charge one customer $10,000,000 when you can charge 100 $1,000,000? That's the beauty of America. Immortality is not some sort of secret, it will be made widely available because there's good money in it. The only question is if medicare and medicaid will be able to sustain itself.

>>
>>51529711
>A comparative biology study of mammalian telomeres indicated that telomere length of some mammalian species correlates inversely, rather than directly, with lifespan, and concluded that the contribution of telomere length to lifespan is unresolved

it is a bit more complex than if it is there or it isn't there
>>
>>51527383
Even if that's true, I don't want to live for 500 years. I mean sure. I'd like to see what the year 2496 is like, but I don't want to live for 500 years to get there.

I'm only 19 and I'm ready to die. Not that I'm going to kill myself, but that I am tired/bored of life.

Some cells in the body aren't replaced very often. Brain cells for instance.

Even with this kind of process brain disease is still super likely, you'll still become senile in 80 years then spend the next 400 an old person in a young persons body.
>>
>>51527695
Rollin
>>
>>51529929

it has to do with maintaining a mutation free chromosome balance

htert are always in cancer cells, that makes them multiply like that but in normal cells the htert only seek out the most health strands, it "balances" what it does in the process of specialization

too little of it leads to cancer and too much of it to cancer too

maybe cancer is the key since it is the immortal cell line

there is also an out of body immortal cell line, the lacks cell line

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HeLa

likely she is the key

htert has to do with the normality of cell division and specialization, that doesn't mean they are in the specialized cells

but if there is too much of it it can lead to cancer

imagine if you have a gardener that prunes a garden but it is a garden of weeds

but if there is no gardener the weed dies after 60 generations

1 gardener keeps the garden healthy but if you have too many gardeners the weeds erupt and flood everywhere

the gardener doesn't actually keep the weed immortal he just makes sure they don't grow into something else

something like that

>>

i am saying it has to do with aging only up to a certain limit because it keeps the differentiated cells healthy

it doesn't repair the rna it transcribes from but it prevents the shortening that happens when a new dna is made

there's science behind immortality

http://www.zmescience.com/research/studies/immortal-worm-never-ages-forever-young-043294/

so long as this is coded in the DNA, we can artificially humanize it. Humans are more complicated and have more chromosomes than worms so it wouldn't be as easy as 1 gene transplant. Theoretically, at least, it's possible for a living organism to regenerate indefinitely.
