The Turks were pretty prolific backstabbers back in the day, but they have downsized their backstabbing operations to aiding illegal immigrants get to Greece.
France and Britain are both moderately skilled backstabbers, but they lack subtlety and they have acquired a reputation for perfidiousness.
Finns are the best backstabbers though, never ever had any negative consequences from it despite doing it very openly.

You are clearly missing a lot of pre-war context when we were being on best of terms with Nazi Germany and did an incredibly rapid 360 degree turn in foreign policy when Hitler asked for Danzing and a corridor in Pomorze.
We were allies formally but never had much time to establish ourselves as primary allies of the UK and France.
I'd say the bigger backstab we experienced was our post-war treatment. Truman being the democoock he was had the nuclear advantage he just conveniently exhibited on Japan and instead of using it he let half of eastern Europe rot under communism.

They did attack Poland, we went to war with Germany, we stayed at war until Germany was defeated and the Royal Navy was fighting them from day one.
