Dude, stop by a hindu temple sometime. They usually serve free vegetarian indian food on a certain day of the week, and hindus are pretty friendly. They'd be happy to tell you about hinduism and answer your questions. They're actually very accepting, they're happy to let anyone in.

My friends and I have done this a couple times. There's a beautiful temple near where I live and my buddies and I have gone there for food and to see what it's all about.
