i've read that it's best to learn grammar and vocabulary BEFORE you start learning how to write and read the language itself. i've started learning some basic grammar rules like conjugating verbs/nouns/adjectives and particles but haven't done ANYTHING with regards to actually writing in the language itself.
i read through the OP doc for learning japanese and it seems like it encourages learning hiragana/katakani/kanji BEFORE you learn how to actually speak the language. would it be best for me to learn the actual writing system FIRST and then proceed with learning the language? i've decided that using the tae kim's website would be a good starting point for me for reference.
