Really, do you think I could become friends with him?
更に、「本当に」を強調したいとき、
C 本当は(私は)彼と仲良くなれると思っているか?
Do you think that it is reality that I could become friends with him?

>no longer we cannot live without Line
You made an interesting mistake. Using a normal word order, we would say "We cannot live without Line any longer" or "We can no longer live without Line."

However, it looks like you were trying to use "inversion" to rearrange the word order for emphasis. To invert it correctly, we say: "No longer can we live without Line." So,

(we) (can) (no longer) -> (no longer) (can) (we)
(subject) (aux.verb) (neg.adverb) -> (neg.adverb) (aux.verb) (subject)

Saying it like this sounds a bit formal/poetic/cool.

How do you think about the weird expressions in lyrics of some music?
I have ever seen the follow lyric
"You don't need no baggage"
I think "You don't need any baggage." is correct
>>
>>51446743
結婚しよう
>>
>>51446757
You are right about that. "You don't need no baggage" is a double negative; technically it means "you do need baggage".

But if you say "don't need no" to an English speaker, they will understand that you mean "don't need any". "Don't need no" sounds very folksy and is common in rural/colloquial speech
>>
(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚
>>
>>51446757

"You don't need any baggage" is indeed correct.

"You don't need no baggage" is a bit of an idiomatic expression.
The translated expresion which is also coloquial and conveys the same feeling would be「荷物なんかいらない」

I hope the other guy will help you more.

Living and working in yellow slant eye'd chink man's land is a whole other ballgame compared to just vacationing in it and fucking the girls

Working for slants is a fucking nightmare of epic proportions in and of itself. Not only are they slave drivers making you work long hours and come in on off days, but they are fucking dumb. I can see why someone lose their shit, working 6 days a week and having to commute on a subway packed full of chink, gook and jap scum who hate you. It's enough to make you go insane.

Really, the work culture is Asia is just terrible. Why didn't someone warn me

Can you legally tutor on your own time? Are you able to quit and not have to pay your employer thousands upon thousands of dollars?

If yes than you're lucky, and it looks like Japan is a good working place for foreigners. If no than it's exactly like working in South Korea which I would never recommend anyone ever. They must have a chip on their shoulder with that Japanese occupation so now they hate all foreigners no matter what so they'll treat incoming workers like shit.

The only people I connected to there were other foreigners, Philippinos, and a Korean that hated his culture.

Gotcha. That sounds like it must be nice, despite the workload.

Korea was horrible because your boss owns your visa so if you quit the job you have no visa, no place to live, and you owe your boss thousands upon thousands of dollars (flight, apartment fees, recruitment fees, etc), and it's illegal to tutor students on your own time. South Korea hates the outside world. I had one friend that asked for time off to visit his dying grandma and he was denied, and another that was fired from his job right after his contract was renewed because they wanted someone new. There was a lot of passive-aggressive backstabbyness about Korean work culture and I hated the unspoken rule of not talking to coworkers at all and staying later than you need to to look good in front of the boss. Bosses are also notorious for firing a foreigner teacher in the 11th month so they don't have to pay the yearly bonus, or flight home and just get someone cheap during that last month while hiring a new one. It happened to a guy that worked at my place before which made me nervous.

I'm speaking purely professionally, of course, the other aspects of Korea were nice and that I enjoyed greatly but the work? It was horrible.

I'm just going to add that I hate the idea of pushing your students more and more and more until they explode with knowledge. The workload got so intense for the kids that eventually I was just a tape player and disciplinary to make sure the kids stay on track because I had no choice but to do this. My boss was losing money (ha!) so her response was to push the students, and the employees, more and more and more. Work more! Rewrite these wordlists! Make them get 100%! More! More! More!

It was a stupid reaction to her situation but it was there even in the beginning when things were fine.

These gooks and chinks and nips are little vindictive, sadistic motherfuckers aren't they.

I'm not a teacher, but I hear teaching in China is similar. They promise you stuff like airfare reimbursement and bonuses, but never deliver. If you get 'free' housing, it's shitty and infested with vermin, etc. Make you pay for utilities and internet, and find other ways to lowball you.

If you're thinking about teaching in Japan, watch this video. It'll probably change your mind. Seems teaching in Asia is the same in each country.

Japanese women have always had an affinity for black males since the 90s or before. There is a strong subculture of Japanese women that seek them out and have sex with them. They can deliver it but these things are being hung over your head because they are things that YOU have to pay for if you dare to leave their tender care. If a country has this set-up I will leave it no matter what.

I didn't mention how I taught with a window wall where anyone that entered the school could watch me work. I was the token whitey and I knew it. I also didn't mention how the boss screwed me out of my pension refund, and got me signed up on health care in a dubious way. It's all supposed to be under her name so I get a pension refund at the end but she never signed me up, thus making her the one that got all the money.

The only plus side working there was that I lived in a nice apartment with no vermin or cockroaches.

Thanks bro, I'm wathcing the video now and it can make me reconsider my options of going somewhere else. I may attempt to work at an international school and cross my fingers that it's different from the private school nightmare but really, it's all up in the air right now. The funny thing about working in Korea was that I hated my colleagues and boss and environment but I loved working with the kids so much that it made me get my teaching cert.

Thanks man. I wanted to honor the contract as a year of experience looks a lot better on a resume than a midnight run. It got me into my teaching program which was nice.

She wasn't attractive at all so that idea is just making me shudder, although I appreciate it hah. Most of my colleagues I either a) couldn't talk to or b) were total cunts looking to get dirt on me to look better in front of the boss. It was almost like they were looking for excuses to get me fired which irritated the hell out of me. On the plus side one of them was like 40, fat, really ugly and worked for virtually nothing. She'll die a wrinkled old hag.

There were things I enjoyed about Korea since it has a lot of great palaces, good nightlife, good food, cheap taxi fare but it was hard making the most out of it when the workplace was so shitty. I had to teach 5 hours straight with no AC for around 9 months.
>>51450390
I got used to it, and if I was annoyed I would stare right at them which would make them look away. Hah.

What got me were the racist old people shouting "Waygooo" when they saw me. When I was annoyed I would tell them to fuck off but they don't know what that means. They pronounce it "fook."

The thing I like about Japan for teaching work is that I own my own Visa so I will be able to quit at any time and owe no money to the employer as a result. Thanks Japanbro, I'll do just that if I decide that I will go there to work. I have Irish roots so I'm fairly stubborn and I think that's where I will go. There's a lot of international schools there which would be nice to get into so I can teach what I'm trained for and not just English.

The reason that I avoided the government JET program was because I knew I was most likely to work in a rural area. It doesn't matter what country it is, people in rural areas don't like outsiders especially if the outsiders are from a foreign land and look very different. I'm blue eyes blonde hair different.

I know, I think it is the same in Europe too, but not in Japan. People go to Tokyo from rural area often want freedom, not for business opportunity. People who work in rural area are sent by companies or officials in Tokyo, they are living there for business. I think it is somewhat related to Asian bureaucracy culture.

When I say "pounded" into my head I mean that they are there and solid as in I can write them, I know all the Kun and On yomi readings and know what a lot words related to that kanji exactly means would would be the definition of "pounding" something into ones head
