Secaucus actually allowed a 75 year old guy to be their fire chief a few years ago. He thankfully retired since, but the dude had hearing aids and had a hard time understanding conversation and would do idiotic stuff like go into buildings with only a helmet on. Most fire departments have mandatory retirement at 65, apparently theirs doesn't.

I actually worked in Secaucus and lived the better part of my life further up in the picture in Union City and West New York.. The really big thing is that in that area the Meadwlands is basically the overflow for the Hackensack river during high water situations At one of my work places the parking lot would flood every high tide on the full moon about least two feet deep.
