Hello, I am planning on preparing some Russian cuisine for my friends. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should make? I've read some online but I was wondering if there were any Russians out there who had any good input on foods they enjoy or recipes.
Like, for American friends, or Slavs?
Pierogis topped with fried onion and sour cream
Boil some shit. They like shitty foods.

Pierogi are polish. Russians just stole it.
They also stole shashlik from turks.
Pelmeni from chinks.
Borsch from Ukrainians
etc.
>>51176446
Exactly. Just execute Russians, don't serve them any meals.
>>51176509
finlan is literally russian though
http://www.olgasflavorfactory.com/main-course/makaroni-po-flotski-macaroni-navy-style/
bum-tier food but tasty
>>51176446
Russia has Pierogi too, under the names of Pelmeni and Varennyky.

>>51177467
looks tasty/10
I'm a total slavaboo, but I find Russian food pretty gross. It even looks depressing like 90% of the time.
Oh and why do Russians love sour cream on everything?
>>51177467
I was watching a documentary on Alex Ovechkin and they say his mom makes him cucumber pancakes
Are those a common meal in Russia?
>>51177467
No knife to cut your food...that is the only thing that really shocked me in Russia.
>>51173551
Make golubci.
>>51177094
varenyky is ukrainian
Polish, Hungarian, and Ukranian food >>>>>>> Russian food

>>51177681

>>51178246
Quebec > USA > Maclar Planet >>>>> Chechnya >>>>>>>> "Anglocanada"
Not sure if it's russian. "Kartoshka" aka "Potato" cake.
>>51178618
thanks senpai
Russian version of polish bird's milk.
green borsh, lagman, pilav, round bread, black tea, a tomato & onion salad and grill some lamb kebabs
Olives with salty cucumbers. Not sure if it's russian too.but it's kinda popular here.
>>51177858
*are
And I know that. But they are still widely available in Russia. Every country "stole" most of it's cuisine from another anyway.
>>51178741
Wait, this is an actual cake? I thought that it only existed as a brand of candy.
>>51178698
Wow, this is a really nice looking one. My mom recently made this and didn't even put the beets on the top...
>>51178814
Candies, cakes, whatever you want, with different flavors. It's very popular here.
>>51178828
Yeah, i don't like beet too.
>>51177685
Who needs knife, when you can cut most of your food by a fork?
>>51178598
Ho aнoн, вeдь вapить oбычныe мaкapoны гopaздo дeшeвлe, чeм бичпaкeты.
My favourite stuff-tomatoes with cheese, mayonese and garlic. Easy to cook and tasty as fuck. Not sure it it's russian too.
>>51178920
What cheese is this?
It's good thread for me interested in Russian foods.
Golubci. Cabbage leaves filled with meat. Delicious with sour cream.
>>51178945
Just regular chesse. It's called "rossiyski" here aka "russian".
>>51177162
Oh god... This is my sandwiches, I made that thread in the spring, wrote:"This is my breakfast". And you all this time kept the photo of my sandwiches...
>>51178982
I only know about твapoг
>>51178945
Any hard cheese, rubbing it in a grater, add mayonnaise and garlic, then mix.
>>51173551
Draniki
Pel'meni were mentioned already. But i have to say that there are very different from chinese analog and have nothing in common with pplish pierogi known in Russia as ukrainian varyeniki. Different receipe, different taste, different shape.
Anon who spent every summer on the countryside here. Make a sbiten for drinking (find out if they have a base in your local Russian stores). Make grechka with mushrooms and sour cream, meat or milk. Make a pike soup. Vinegret for salad. Millet porridge can be great, depends on a quality of your oven (you cook it in a pot which adds too, or in a deep saucer).
>>51177094
>Pierogi too, under the names of Pelmeni
This braeks my mind.
>>51177685
Cutting pancakes?
>>51178945
Rennet cheese.
>>51179008
Tвopoг is literally curd. And that was cheese
>>51179069
It's legimately belorussian. Very popular in Russia though.
>>51179098
>braeks
This breaks my mind
Mushrooms in marinade with onion. That's easy but delicious.
>>51176284
There are two pierogi: Russian pierogi are baked pies, polish pierogi are deep fried dumplings, we have deep fried amalogue, but its called chebureki tho
>>51179163
>pierogi are deep fried
w-what?
>>51179143
I have a high temperature: 38C.
>>51179163
Chebureki is turkish thing. And it's absolutely different. Polish pierogi=вapeники.
>>51178246
Polish food = Ukrainian food ======== Russian food
>>51179106
BeloRussian cuisine is also Russian, anon.
>>51179192
Americans don't know what temperature of human body is normal. That tells them nothing.
>>51179192
It's not so high, you pussy.
>>51179184
They dont? I was delusional about Polish pierogi all this time?
>>51179184
Eh? Fried pies with baked eggs and green onions are top foods.
>>51179216
You will be throwed with poos.
>>51179239
Пьepoги этo вapeники eпт.
>>51179239

>>51179241
No, пиpoжки in Russian does not mean the same thing as pierogi in Polish. These aren't even that common in Polish food.

>>51179206
Polish and Ukrainian food are similar, but they both taste amazing regardless. Russian food is just...well, I wouldn't seek it out. Hungarian food is the best out of all of them, though. Super hearty and warming.
