During the scientific breakthroughs of 19th and 20th century Finland usually just came up with new words, put old words together or expanded on older words to create scientific terms. Considering how fleeting tribal allegiances and power were in those days, I think it's a fair assumption to make that during periods Finns would be paying tribute to the Swedes, and sometimes other way around. I don't think any of the kings/chieftains so far north actually had the power or organization to ever achieve something more permanent than tribute.
In the Heimskringla there is a tale about how Torgny Lawspeaker btfo'd Swedish king Olof Skötkonung about his want to conquer Norway, which no Swedish king had wanted to do before him, and then goes on to talk about how earlier kings in Uppsala had instead looked to the east for conquest:

There is no exact amount since different linguists have different opinions, and not all words have a traceable etymology. But roughly speaking it's at least 20%. It also depends on whether or not you want to include every inflection of a word as its own thing Taistelu (battle), Taistelija (fighter), Taistella (to fight) etc. could be counted as either one word or several.

Not an expert but I've heard it's as few as 300 words. Think some finn-anon here posted that number.
Also apparently in Finnish there are certain words with no known roots at all. Not Uralic, not indo-european. Those are theorized to be remnants of the languages spoken in Europe before Uralic and Indo-European migration.

Yes I didn't mean to imply a state of permanence. It is well known that all the nordic tribes (so finnics and norsemen) were sometimes allies, sometimes enemies, sometimes neutral. Sometimes the Kvens and Karelians raided the Norwegians, sometimes the Swedes and Kvens raided the Karelians etc. etc. It's just that the hypothetical "kingdom" the Kvens might have had going on intrigues me since so very little is known about that period of history in Fennoscandia.
