I think modern youth is quite divided into normie and nerd camps.
Especially Nokia and other related electronic industries and IT companies have increased the societal value of nerds. Since we lack natural riches, our economic very much relies upon nerdy people to do something useful in order to ensure future growth.
But even then, there are quite big difference between nerds; those who shitpost on forums and those who might actually code something useful.

Anime is pretty mainstream, tons of people watch it, in high school especially.
Video games are pretty mainstream as well, the normie ones at least (fifa, pro evolution soccer, call of duty, football manager, etc). Some less mainstream game like Witcher 3 and Metal Gear Solid are unknown to most people but some people play them.
I've never met a person who plays table top games, let alone warhammer.
