tbf France doesn't really count, was only a class trip to Saverne which is like 150km upstream (near Rhine) from home, so things didn't feel/look much different
Same with Spain of which I only saw Mallorca twice as a kid
Also maybe go to Czechnya/Polan for muh 1/4 Silesian hurritage (grandpa from there has been dead for over 20 years now though, can barely remember him), direct border area, ancestry from both sides
