Any other movement has galvanized people from every culture and background?
Real Madrid and Apple

except religious movements and wars(or religious people AND war, in ISIS's case), i don't think so.
it's what they are trying to do right?
something about the apocalypse?

don't you need to have to have a certain financial status to afford Apple tech?
Oh yeah, forgot to add, open source and tech in general.
Communism did well for the 60 or so years

not necessay, ive seen cleaners, taxi drivers etc with iphones.
500$ is not a big deal, even if you have to eat only potatoes during several months
You're being a bit unfair to every "movement" that took place before global travel became a commodity

one of the end-time islamic prophecies is that a big infidel army will try to oppose the islamic chosen in Northern Syria, and Allah will smite their asses. ISIS is trying to provoke that and usher in the Apocalypse.
Do you realise we actually have a statal entity now that is literally trying to bring upon the end of days?
On the bright side, they are in big financial trouble(banks can only be robbed once, no one wants to trade with them, and every taxable citizen is trying to flee their demented theocracy)

Pretty convenient to have a prophecy that says you'll lose up until the last moment

That's a christian thing though, in traditional Islam saying you know or you can bring about the apocalpyse is blasphemey.
Most of the recruits don't really know much about Islam, but they're told they're gonna be like action heroes from the movies, get housing and even sex slaves if they're good enough. And that's why they go.

>That's a christian thing though
There's a verse saying no one knows the time or the hour besides God, so doesn't work like that here either.
Only clues are that it's gonna be once Christianity gets evangelized to the whole world(which means 100 different things, depending on who you ask) and the world's going to be a big cataclysmic mess when it does.
Unless you are a preterist.
>Most of the recruits don't really know much about Islam
ISIS are breaking as many islamic rules as they are human rights from the get go.
