Time for a new mil thread. Be polite everyone.

South Korea is buying Block 2 Harpoons to arm their subs.

The contract to complete the fifth Astute, HMS Anson, has been officially signed. It's motto "One musn't give up hope" is rather appropriate here.

China is buying 24 Su-35s from Russia. The plane is less important than the engine in this case though.

A pretty cool vid of some Iranian Tomcats escorting a Russian Bear.

Some Harriers are launching strikes against ISIS. Might be their last hurrah in American service before they start getting replaced by F-35s, not a bad send-off.
http://www.janes.com/article/56106/usaf-to-expand-bomber-presence-in-pacific
USAF is planning to base some bombers and tankers out of Australia. New Zealand is next on our war path of course.
>Harrier doing something
Nice. Thing's my planefu if I ever had one. VTOL is the shit.

Good lad
Fuck the F35, where's the next-gen Harrier I've always dreamed of

>Fuck the F35, where's the next-gen Harrier I've always dreamed of
Erm... that's the F-35...

There was talk of a Harrier 3, with a more powerful engine, folding wingtips, and more fuel and hardpoints. The Harrier II Plus pushed the airframe about as far as it's going to go though, it's just about reached the limit of it's potential.
Still sexy though.

Russians causing havoc
The Charles de Gaulle left for Syria two days ago.
Don't know when it's expected to be in range of Raqqa.
Will probably be the SEM's last mission as well.

Pic of the Milwaukee's launch two years ago.

Argentina still has them. Not sure if that's a comfort or an embarrassment though. It's like watching the Saudis fly around in beautiful F-15s.
>tfw when we have the best military in the world

Argentina has the old legacy Super Etendards, not the upgraded one.
And they were planning to buy France's SEM as they are progressively switching to the Rafale M but they are even too poor for that.
>>51028912
Damn. Maybe some crappy African nation will buy them.
