I didn't like the Mexicans I met in the Southern States. Maybe it's just since English is my first language and hearing other languages in a supposedly English speaking country is inherently repulsive

Yeah, when I stayed in New York and then Ontario, I met a lot of Mexicans. Honestly, they held better and stronger family values, and were generally nicer people than the white population. I'm not saying the white population was bad, far from it, basically everyone I met on my travels was friendly, but Mexicans honestly just seemed friendlier than most, always willing to take time to talk to you, give you advice, and always showed an interest in what you have to say, even as a complete stranger.
