Not bad m8, today is an inside day in Sydney I'm afraid.
Hi guys
>>50994893
>4 degrees
>cold
>>50994719
>The City of Townsville
Powerpuff Girls are Australian?
but US has the hottest place in the world, Death Valley
>>50997567
senpai
>>50997759
OH MY GOD!
How you survive?
Also which town?
>>50997673
>Death Valley
yeah does anyone actually live there though? Sydney is literally on the coast of Australia not in the middle of the fucking desert.
>>50997841
>How you survive?
Lots of clothes.
>Also which town?
Anchorage
>>50997944
It's a national park, so not really. I did read that park staff who live there during the summer swap the cold and hot water pipes because the ground is so hot.
And isn't the record hottest place some valley in Ethiopia or something?
>>50997944
Yes. Arguably.
Honestly I'm not certain they're human anymore, but there's a few nuts who live out in the middle of nowhere just to prove that they can and/or to avoid intercting with human life in any way.
>>50998046
>Anchorage
okey
>>50994719
Sack lads fucking stinky
Use imperial measurements senpai
>>50997944
I was in Phoenix last summer and remember it being 41C. I'm also going this upcoming Wednesday for thanksgiving fuck Phoenix
>>50994719
Its only fucking spring ffs
>>50998046
>>50998089
We have regions like that, like Coober Pedy and Lighting Ridge. People actually live underground because the above ground summer temp is always in the high 40s. But they're not out there for shits and giggles they're usually opal miners or indigenous.
>>50998350
Arizona would be pretty comparable to a lot of places in Australia. 40+ heatwaves are normal for Sydney, people just aren't used to them in November because it is spring not summer. I think the average summer temp is around 30 - 35 and 45 is the absolute hottest I've ever seen it get in Sydney in summer.
>>50998690
Lightning Ridge is a pretty interesting place to begin with, real wild-west shit out there. Stay away from Walgett though...
Think the hottest, driest place I've been here was probably Oodnadatta - NT border region, it hit about 48C there in mid-summer and the bonnet of the Landrover was literally hot enough to give you 1st degree burns. Port Hedland towards Marble Bar is also consistently bullshit hot, but I might have been there on a 'good day' as it was only about 35C.
>>50998847
>The name Lightning Ridge is said to have originated when in the 1870s some passers by found the bodies of a farmer, his dog and 200 sheep which had been struck by lightning.
>Paul Hogan was born in Lightning Ridge.
Sounds pretty wild to me
Hottest place I've been is Alice Springs or Carins. I've spent a fair few Australian summers doing ski seasons overseas tb.h
My 21st birthday was the hottest recorded day/night in Sydney, it was still like 35 degrees at midnight
Being really cold >>> being really hot
At least you can put clothes on and feel comfortable
>>50999311
I agree.
>>50999254
Its kind of wild because its full of all these people that just 'dropped out' of society.
You'd probably meet anyone from crazy prospector types to Serbian war criminals out there! Majority are pretty harmless it would seem, but there's also an adage about it being quicker and easier to dump a body in an old mining shaft than calling the police and have them turn up in any reasonable amount of time. So people mostly look after themselves...
I do remember it being about 46-47C in Sydney back in 2013 and it just wouldn't cool off. Missus and I had a waterfight in the backyard :)
>>50994719
> 41 degrees
What can men do against such reckless hate?
>>50999494
Just have to add, I get uncomfortable if its +13, if its +20 im on the floor having overheat seizures
>>50994719
I live in California's central valley. Those are daily temperatures, in the summer time.
>>50999311
>>50999311
I dunno man, there's not a cloud in the sky and there is nothing more refreshing than going for a swim and drinking beer on a hot summer day. Or getting drunk on the weekends and heading to the beach for a night swim.
>>50999311
I hear that. Although I guess snow adds an interesting dimension to things. At least winter in Australian is just -cold- (ish). None of the other meteorological bullshit.
>>50999531
It's still spring here
>>50999522
How does that square up with saunas, exactly?
>>50999557
Feels like we're getting the last bits of moisture squeezed out before a Big Long Dry One
>>50999532
And looking like a scrotum by the age of 30.
Although it is nice to swim on a hot day. Just stay in the water. Pity the wave's tend to be best early and late.
>>50994719
I know that feel bro
>>50999311
Up to a point, thing with hot weather is that you can function well into the high-40's as long as you're drinking enough water.
Sure you might be taking in a litre an hour, but you can continue to march, walk and do shit relatively at peak efficiency- if it gets cold enough you really slow down and burn through calories like crazy, it affects your thinking and co-ordination pretty badly.
Combine it with altitude + cold, damn that's tough going.
>no clouds at the sky
God damn it.
>>50999587
Only wogs go to the beach and lie in the sun in the middle of the day
>Tfw it was 100 degrees and 90% humidity for a good part of the summer
>>50999587
Oh and english and scandavian backpackers
>>50999532

>>50999680
And the magpies bouncing off your gurney when you're getting wheeled away, don't forget them.
>>50999680
i've gone to the beach a lot and none of those things have happened to me 2bh
>>50999721
Be thankful you don't live at the top end. Most of the beaches up there are closed half the year on account of the box jellyfish.

why don't you just fuck off then?

>>51000239
you have some of that kava too? always good times with the islanders having some afternoon snacks and downing that kava
>>51000190
You're not retarded, hot drinks help promote sweating while not doing much to increase core temperature or overall heat. One of the reasons why Indians stink is because they choose the sweaty strategy instead of the stay in the cool strategy
>>50994719
We bore the same temperatures during the summer, and this ain't a tropical or desertic country. Furthermore, we even have snow daily in January, and sometimes the temperatures drop below -15 in the morning.
Who's the fag now, mate?
>>51000271
That reminds me... I reckon I'll go fetch a pad khi mao too. What kind of Thai cuisine you boys enjoy?
>>51000297

Extreme weather is good, everyone here feels longing for the opposite season in the midst of one season. It's like an accomplishment to get out of the arid summer (or at least for me), some of people love more the summer than the winter. This year, in September there were 30 degrees; and in October there were like -5 in a morning, and 8 in the mid of the day.
Tfw wearing my gaming headset in this weather makes my ears sweat....
:'(
>>51000461
those are hypos not romanians
>>51001254
Romanians = gypsys
Gypsies = Romanians
Some have privilege, the "gypsy" gypsys are the poor ones.
They're called the Romani people for a reason...
