Our equivalent was pretty nice, it was nothing like in the American shit where they hire limousines and stuff though. We had a local dj come in and there was a ton of awkward dancing, left early with a few friends and our dates then drove to a nearby beach and drank ourselves into nearly killing ourselves by swimming at night.

well here in austria, you can do perfectly well without going to uni or even beter if you have an engineering/tech related job.
here everyone does an apprenticeship, so if you choose to no go to uni you start earning money with 15 and at 18 you are a full blown electrician/office worker/insert profession.
by the time i finished uni, my non-uni friends already had their own appartements, cars, stable relationships, kids etc. while never having to work more than 40 hours per week, never having to write a diploma thesis or do ridiculously difficult exams that force you into insane learning hours.
We had something similar. There were only two guys, me and some fat fuck, who didn't attend.

The girl i had originally asked to go with couldn't go (long story, but it was anxiety related), so i found some ultra thin chick i had never spoken with before through mutual friends. I only danced with her and that was it basically.

and we have cheap community colleges, but theyre pretty much just an extension of high school and the 2 year degree you get from them is fairly useless.
every decent paying job requires a 4 year college degree, or several years of prior experience.
if you dont go to college or a tech school, to get your first job (even in food service) you either have to have friends/family who work there to get you in, or you have to lie.
