When I think of Latin America, I picture steamy jungle with narcos cutting someone's head off, poor dark skinned people smoking all the time, gated communities with armed guards, malaria, corruption and unnecessarily expensive construction projects. Maybe there's a less cartoony and stable society hidden somewhere in there but I'd have to travel to find out. But it doesn't make me think of Europe, not even North America. Mexico, maybe.
