Well maybe because Turkish nation is actually composed of many different people.
In the 19th century, the word Türk only referred to Anatolian villagers. The Ottoman ruling class identified themselves as Ottomans, not usually as Turks. In the late 19th century, as the Ottoman upper classes adopted European ideas of nationalism the term Türk took on a much more positive connotation. The Turkish-speakers of Anatolia were the most loyal supporters of Ottoman rule. And we all know Turkey isn't just anatolia during Ottoman rule so no wonder there's so many different people in it, all united by same language and religion.

That picture is cherry pickin, I've spent several months in southern Italy (Calabria, Sicily) and people there dont look like that guy, they look identical to turks/arabs/kurds etc that we have back in Sweden. Very dark, and they are the same in behaviour as well (pushy, slimy, aggressive).
