More than 130 cases in the past four years have come to their attention in which mostly young women sought help after claiming sexual abuse.
The mistreatment included being forced to engage in repeated intercourse without protection and even being gang-raped during filming.
The majority of the cases have their roots in coercive or fraudulent signing of contracts—sometimes targeting minors.
Initially, women are casually approached on the street by brokers who pretend to be scouting models, the advocates said.
When victims realise the con and try to break the contracts, they are threatened with lawsuits and so give in.
But in one case last year that was actually adjudicated, the Tokyo District Court threw out a claim against a woman by makers of a pornographic film.
“These women are forced to perform in such sexually abusive movies against their will,” Yukiko Tsunoda, one of the lawyers, said at the press conference.
The group of activists and lawyers said they have been alarmed by an increasing number of young women, mostly in their early 20s—and even young men and boys—who seek their help.

Traffic, lots and lots of traffic. It has good weather throughout the year in most places and has a very diverse landscape from mountains, to desserts, to forest, to coastlines. It's the most normie state in the country and there's always something going on. Also the most hated state in the union.

It's nice. You can pick the type of environment you want to live in and find it somehwere in Cali. We have desert, beach, mountains (pic related), valley, rivers, forests, big cities, etc. Whenever I look up "[X Country] diaspora", the largest pop of them in the U.S. is almost always in California, so if you are learning a language or like a certain culture/cuisine you can go to the regions where most of those folks live and see what's up. You can find super ethnically mixed areas or little "enclaves" of whatever you want. Alot of non-Calfornians come here for Hollywood, so you'll always find amateur/undergound musicians/singers/rappers/filmmakers everywhere. We have alot of hippies obviously, and also alot of anarchistic punk kids. But then of course we have alot of farmers too (tend to be middle class or wealthy conservatives), and then the Silicon Valley tech types.
To me it just feels like a place with every kind of person so it's very exciting, and the nature is quite pretty as well. 10/10 would continue living in
