You could maybe try starting up a general thread on /mu/ and see what happens. I'm sure there's probably a ton of people on there who want to create music too.

Yeah, there isn't really a good community around music creation on /mu/, it sucks. /ic/ really is great because everybody, no matter their skill level is trying to learn and get better at their craft whereas /mu/ is completely overrun with shitposting and people trying to validate their tastes. I don't even go there anymore and music is my main interest.
I think the best thing you can do is just focus on making music, not on talking about making music. There are a ton of resources out there.

This makes me feel bad. I almost wish that music was allowed on /ic/ now but then I'm reminded that all the extra cancer that comes with it wouldn't be worth it and it'd probably kill the board. This must be how japs feel.
