I don't have one.
Are they useful?
Wouldn't it be more wise to have male and female proportioned ones?
I don't use them for drawing, but preordered these babies last week.
I have a small 5 inch one that use to help with foreshortening.
Sometimes the basic forms in picture aren't really clear, so I bust out the mannequin. It gives you a good sense of how to break the pose down into basic forms, the amount of overlap, etc.
You can do that without a mannequin, but I find that it does really help with approaching extreme foreshortening.

link pls
It's on the way.

There's a variety of them coming out soon.
It just works
Anyone have one of these?
They look flimsly and fragile, is it worth?

As long as you don't drop it
>>2505691
First time I've seen them. Are they really fragile or something?
Mine
>>2505688
That looks pretty stupid.
The whole point of a mannequin is the simplification of basic forms.
This has weird chest/pelvis shapes and flimsy stick limbs.
is it cheating to use a 3d pose software
I use it occasionally for perspective/practicing perspective
but I don't rely on it
>>2505539
Mine is an old piece of rigid shit, so I use the DesingDoll sofware.

oh anon, have a (You)
>>2506010
If not that, then what?
It's shit for gestures, it's shit for anatomy. I think mannequins are borderline worthless as it is, but I certainly can't imagine what you would use some kind stick figure action doll mother fucking ass looking thing for.
>>2506044
Mannequins are used for conveniently designing and tweaking poses. Today, along with photo references, they fill the niche that once was predominantly filled by live models.
>>2505688
I ordered the smaller, plastic "rider" version after someone shilled it in the last thread.
I'm quite happy with it. The only real difference to the bigger one is it doesn't have poseable fingers.
It does feel a bit delicate, but I haven't broken it yet, and you can order replacement parts anyway since it's been designed to be modular.
>>2505909
Huh? No, the point of a mannequin is to keep proportions under control in difficult poses and perspectives. The A9 is good because it's close to how a human skeleton would be shaped. Obv. you'll have to construct the flesh around it
Work in progress
>>2505544
un-human bicep insertions and tricep volume on the male model...
It's stiff as shit. Thinking of getting these though. >>2505544

You keep on proving you're a pedo. How much is that doll anyway? $400?
>>2506916
about 25$ for the body+head
About 70/80$ for clothing
>>2506916
Also, fortunately i have an hairdresser friend that makes haircuts for my dolls
he is a closet weeabo too so no problem
I'm considering getting one of these

No rules, only tools

I've always thought those looked rad as fuck. I have a pair of surprisingly posable jap figurines on my desk that come in handy at times.

>>2507327
It is a trap.

Lemme put it on my list then <33.
Are these things even useful?
>>2507703
Doesn't even have contraposto, big turnoff for me.
>>2507708
I don't use or care about this thing...I just kind of have it. I think an exgirlfriend bought it for me.

>legs and torso are stiff as fuck, and you can't bend the limbs that much, but okay
>sister kids that I'm gonna make clothes now
>mfw the slow realization that these aren't for reference in drawing, but to dress up mock-ups of clothing
What do you guys think of Design dolls?

still working on those dreadlocks?
jesus man, its been months hasn't it?
Why not just use Poser, Blender or Daz? I know some of the models are shit but some are quite useable.

Actually, I accidentally a http://m.imgur.com/jlOHY8M
>>2505542
I have one, it's fucking trash even for the very basic things you can use one for. Though mine is worse than most because the legs hardly articulate, they only go forwards or backwards.
And yes, some people will say "its just for eyeballing perspective and foreshortening!" and I say there are other ways to do it that aren't such a waste of space.

What the fuck is up with the male's upper arm? Have they never seen humans?
